My Completed Version of Today’s Writing Prompt
Strength by K.E. Creighton
She stooped mid-walk to pull the bright yellow flower from the crack in the pavement. But stopped herself at the last second. Because she suddenly realized, from her now crouched position, the stark contrast between the resiliency of the flower’s stem and petals and the vibrancy of its colors, with the damaged grey cold cement. Sure, someone else might come along and trample the weed or pluck it from the ground, as she had almost done. But that weed of a flower would always grow back with its same vitality without human interference, and the broken cement next to it would not.
