My Completed Version of Today’s Writing Prompt

Moonlight: A Poem, by K.E. Creighton

Cascading matte light, elusive and bright. In singular rows over the ridges of houses and streets. Dimming the stars beyond the rivers and trees. That are way beyond me. Tonight.

Your reflections are different. From where I am standing. Where you once shimmered. You are now full yet dulled. By all the lights. All the architectured space. But was it you or I who changed? Our previous understanding.

Once illuminating the heavens on Earth. Currently faded and draining my dreams. And burning my sense of reality. As I perceive you here. Further and farther than you have ever been. Holding what was always free before.

Notes on Completing this Writing Prompt

I don’t know if I’d call what I wrote above a poem. But it’s what I came up with for this writing prompt. And with more time, I would have probably revised it all. For now, however, it will have to do I suppose.
