Confidence by Raphael Frumkin is wildly entertaining and deeply disturbing. If you’re in a more sarcastic or sardonic mood one day, read it then. And then plan to read something fluffy afterward to cleanse yourself. Because you will feel tainted once you finish it, as if you’ve been complicit in a wave of crimes yourself.

Ecco Press gifted me an advance copy of The Trackers by Charles Frazier, which will likely be released next month. And it’s definitely worth the read. For those who are both interested and not interested in this book after a first glace of its synopsis: keep in mind that while the synopsis of the book accurately summarizes what happens in the novel, it’s Frazier’s writing style and the cinematic characters and images in the novel that will keep you hooked while reading it.

The Birthday Party by Laurent Mauvignier is a unique novel. I would describe it as a literary thriller with a pulse. And it’s worth the read if you want to read something that’s a little different, but still has many traditional thriller tropes. However…

First, let me say that The Climate Book is important and is worth the read. And everyone should pick it up and read it, or skim through it, at least. It wasn’t, however, everything that it was projected to be. And left me wanting more… but not in a good way, unfortunately.
